About Votewiser
Votewiser is a free, nonpartisan voter-information site. We maintain a clear, consolidated profile page for every sitting member of the U.S. Congress and for candidates running in the 2026 midterm elections, so voters can find who represents them — and who's on the ballot — in one place.
Our mission
Elections work best when voters can easily find accurate, comparable information about the people seeking to represent them. We gather public information about members of Congress and 2026 candidates, organize it consistently, and present every person on the same terms — no rankings, no endorsements.
Our nonpartisan commitment
We do not endorse candidates or parties, accept campaign advertising, or favor any political viewpoint. Every candidate in a race is listed on identical terms, and our page templates are the same regardless of party. Our only goal is that voters see accurate information, whatever their politics.
Where our data comes from
Our profiles are built from public, authoritative sources:
- Congress.gov / U.S. Congress — official member records, biographies, committee assignments, and sponsored legislation.
- Ballotpedia — candidate roster, race, and party information for 2026 contests.
- Official and campaign websites and social profiles — links we surface so voters can hear from candidates directly.
- Public elections data — district maps, seats, and state primary/general election dates.
How we keep it current
Candidate information changes quickly during an election cycle. We refresh our data as new candidates file and as each state's primary narrows the field toward the November 3, 2026 general election. The "Updated" date in the footer of each page reflects when that page was last regenerated.
Corrections & contact
If something on a page is out of date or incorrect — a biography, committee, office detail, photo, campaign website, or social link — we want to fix it. Email us at [email protected] and we'll review and correct it promptly.
