Terms of Service
Effective August 24, 2026
Votewiser is a free, nonpartisan voter-information site. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What Votewiser provides
We publish consolidated profile pages for sitting members of the U.S. Congress and for candidates in the 2026 midterm elections, assembled from public sources. The site is provided free of charge, for general informational purposes, and is supported by no fee, subscription, or account of any kind.
No endorsement, no political affiliation
We do not endorse candidates or parties, accept campaign advertising, or favor any political viewpoint. Every candidate in a race is listed on identical terms. Votewiser is an independent voter-education project and is not affiliated with, funded by, or endorsed by any government body, political party, campaign, or candidate. The presence of a person, link, or logo on this site is not an endorsement by us of them, or by them of us.
Accuracy and the limits of this information
We work to keep our information accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee it. Candidate rosters change as people file and withdraw, primaries and court rulings reshape the field, and source data itself contains errors and delays. Information here may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.
Do not rely on this site for voting decisions that depend on official information. For voter registration, deadlines, polling places, ballot contents, and election results, consult your state or local election authority. Nothing here is legal advice.
Content ownership
Our page layouts, original text, and the organization of our data are ours. Much of the underlying material is not: photographs, campaign logos, official portraits, quoted text, and linked content belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification and voter-information purposes. If you own material that appears on this site and want it corrected, credited differently, or removed, email us and we will address it promptly.
Acceptable use
You may read, share, and link to our pages freely. You may not:
- use automated tools in a way that degrades the site for other visitors;
- use information from this site to harass, threaten, or intimidate any person;
- use contact details found here to send unsolicited bulk commercial email;
- republish our pages in a way that misrepresents them as endorsements or as your own work;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure.
Links to other sites
We link to official sites, campaign sites, social profiles, and news coverage so voters can hear from candidates directly. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement.
Privacy
We do not require accounts and do not collect personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision, and continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Corrections & contact
If something on a page is out of date or incorrect — a biography, committee, office detail, photo, campaign website, or social link — we want to fix it. Email [email protected] and we will review and correct it promptly.
