#TeamGonzalez was excited to attend the Cannery Public Market ribbon-cutting ceremony in the heart of the Mitte Cultural District in Brownsville, made possible by a $700,000 federal investment. Congratulations to the City of Brownsville, the Brownsville Wellness Coalition, and the Rio Grande Food Bank for creating a welcoming health & wellness space where families can get fresh foods, educational cooking classes, and much more!
As your Congressman, my top priority is fighting for our South Texas values in Washington. Stay up to date with my work by subscribing to my newsletter at: https://t.co/2GMFH3NBG9 https://t.co/LQwjiyXXSC
It was great to meet with Coastal Bend workers at Celanese about strengthening job growth and economic development across our region. To ensure South Texans remain competitive for high-skilled jobs, I've worked hard to bring home more than $1.3 billion in federal investments for education and workforce training programs. And I'll continue fighting in Congress for even more local support.
I am proud to deliver $1 million in community project funding to the City of Harlingen for the construction of a new animal shelter. This investment will create safe and more humane conditions for stray and lost pets before they find their forever homes! In Washington, I will continue supporting legislation that protects the well-being of our four-legged friends and holds animal abusers accountable! More from CBS 4:
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. In Texas alone, 24,270 women are estimated to be diagnosed this year. Early detection matters, and it can save a life! This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, my wife, Lorena, is discussing the importance of regular screening, knowing the signs, and supporting those affected! Read more here ⬇️ https://t.co/EnmtylTPfP
Judge Jaime E. Carrillo has devoted more than 36 years to advancing justice, including nearly a decade of honorable service on the Kleberg County bench. Today, I had the honor to present a Congressional Record recognizing his extraordinary leadership in public service and his unwavering dedication to our community! With this Congressional Record, his legacy is now permanently preserved in the history of the United States Congress.
The City of Harlingen and our work at every level of government to grow the local economy serve as a model for the rest of the nation. Congratulations to the entire Harlingen community on receiving prestigious recognition as an All-America City! With my support in Congress, we will keep investing in education and vocational training to create good-paying jobs here at home, powered by South Texas talent.
Today, on National Coffee with a Cop Day, #TeamGonzalez joined Kleberg and Willacy County officers in Kingsville to strengthen important relationships and build even greater trust between local law enforcement and our communities! Thank you to the dedicated officers who participated and met with our neighbors. Your continued service to South Texas keeps us all safe!
$90. That's what this Administration thinks of America's senior citizens. First, they enacted the so-called Big, Beautiful Bill to cut Medicare by $500+ billion over the next decade. Then, they refused to extend ACA tax credits, causing monthly insurance premiums to soar by hundreds of dollars. Now, they're robbing community health centers to dole out $90 checks that most seniors in our district aren't eligible for and will barely cover rising costs to visit a doctor or get lifesaving meds. Extreme Republicans in Washington don’t get to act as the firefighter when they were the arsonist all along.
Overcrowded animal shelters in the Rio Grande Valley increase the risk of disease spread and limit how many animals can receive proper care before finding their forever homes. Alongside the @HarlingenTex, I secured $1 million in community project funding to build a new 15,000 sq. ft. shelter, improving conditions for stray or lost pets while easing the strain on staff and volunteers who maintain operations.
