Congratulations to my dear friend and lifelong New Orleanian, @WendellPierce, on achieving his annual “trifecta” goal of acting in a television show, a film, and a stage play all in the same year. He’s completing that incredible accomplishment by taking on the role of Othello. Wendell continues to be a true inspiration and a shining example of the extraordinary talent that comes out of #LA02. Louisiana couldn’t be more proud.

The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy – and I will fight against its weakening. I will continue advocating for fairness, equity, and representation that truly reflect the voices of our community. Happy 100th birthday to Mrs. Mable Harris Thomas! Mrs. Thomas is a lifelong Louisianian who has given so much to our communities, including fighting for fair wages and equity in our public school systems. Mable also worked for 31 years with @assumptionk12 and @JPschools. She is loved by her family, her church, her sisters in @dstinc1913, and our entire community. We are better because of her. With new work reporting requirements set to begin in 2027, too many eligible Americans risk losing their Medicaid coverage because of unnecessary red tape. States like Louisiana are already working hard to help families stay covered, which is why I’m proud to introduce the Medicaid Outreach and Assistance for Communities Act of 2026 with @RepMcClellan. This bill gives states the resources they need to continue and expand that work so no one falls through the cracks. No one should lose their health care because of paperwork or bureaucracy.
