72 years ago today, the Supreme Court issued its landmark decision in Brown v. Board of Education, a case that began in Topeka, Kansas and helped shape the course of our nation’s history. The ruling reinforced the promise of equal opportunity in America, and Kansas will always hold an important part in that story.
As a fifth-generation Kansan raised on my family’s farm in Quinter, I understand the pride our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers take in feeding the world. The Big First is proud to be the number one beef-producing district, providing millions of American families with nutritious, delicious protein options. Happy #NationalBeefMonth to the hardworking and resilient people who keep our families fed and our rural communities strong!
Our flight into Kansas City just made an emergency landing after the cabin filled with smoke. Thanks to our first responders, pilots, flight crew, and MCI staff, everyone is safely evacuated on the tarmac. https://t.co/yzSsOhxC7c
Southwest Kansas continues to face dangerous wildfire conditions, and Audrey and I are praying for the families, ranchers, firefighters, and volunteers. Please continue to follow local guidance and take every precaution to keep your communities safe. https://t.co/bi4SWMFGel
Today, the House passed our first FY27 appropriations bill, the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act. This legislation fully funds veterans’ health care, strengthens support for military families, and invests in military infrastructure and housing. @HouseGOP is committed to restoring regular order and funding the government responsibly while honoring the men and women who serve our country.
Organized retail crime threatens consumers, employees, and communities nationwide. This National Police Week, I was proud to help advance the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act, which supports the officers working to stop these crimes.
Great to be on KCMO with @PeteMundo this morning to talk E15
The House just passed year-round E15 in the House. This means more choices at the pump for Americans, stronger markets for Kansas agriculture, and more certainty for our energy producers. This is a major win for American consumers and agricultural producers. https://t.co/83Yuh9Q2zg
The White House just launched https://t.co/6N88m6Q7Ks—a free resource connecting new and expecting mothers with options for maternal health care, pregnancy support, nutrition guidance, and other services available nationwide. It’s a practical step toward strengthening families and supporting parents during some of the most important years of family life. Thank you, @POTUS, for continuing to put American families first!
Today, @HouseGOP will vote on year-round E15. Expanding E15 gives consumers more choice at the pump, strengthens domestic energy, and creates stronger markets for Kansas producers. As part of the Rural Domestic Energy Council, I’m proud to support this commonsense legislation.
