This week, we mark and remember the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party, including its indescribably evil program of state-sponsored organ harvesting. I've introduced the Falun Gong and Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Protection Act, and I'm working with my colleagues to advance it. The U.S. should remain committed to countering these human rights violations and ensuring the CCP is held accountable.

I was glad to see my bipartisan legislation with @SenGillibrand, the Officer John Barnes and Chief Michael Ansbro Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program Expansion Act of 2026, get passed unanimously out of the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday. It takes important steps to speed up and strengthen benefits for injured public safety officers. Law enforcement officers put themselves in harm’s way to protect our communities, and we have a duty to stand by them.

No paycheck for Members of Congress while working men and women across the federal government go without theirs. That’s basic fairness. Grateful to @SenJohnKennedy for leading this effort and to my Senate colleagues for passing it unanimously.

On National Police Week, we honor and remember the brave men and women in blue who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe. I’m grateful that my bipartisan legislation, Trey’s Law, passed unanimously out of the Senate Judiciary Committee today. Trey’s Law provides an important protection for child victims of sexual assault by ensuring they can never be silenced by nondisclosure agreements. No child victim should ever be silenced. I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues to get Trey’s Law passed and signed into law.
