RT @mikepompeo: I've met with some of the worst guys on Earth - but Xi Jinping is without a doubt the coldest and most ruthless leader I've…
At today's @SASCGOP hearing, @CENTCOM Commander Admiral Cooper highlighted the stunning success of Operation Epic Fury. - Reduced Iran's defense industrial base by 90%. - Degraded Iran's ballistic missile and drone capabilities. - Destroyed Iran's navy for a generation. - Eliminated Iran's resources to support terrorist proxies.
We were glad to welcome South Korean Minister of National Defense Ahn Gyu-back to the Senate this week. We discussed the importance of strengthening deterrence against North Korean aggression, cooperation on nuclear powered submarines, and a conditions-based approach to the transition of operational control of the Combined Forces Command. The U.S.-ROK alliance is one of the strongest in the world — and we're committed to keeping it that way.
Mr. President, you have been generously patient with the murderous Iranian Islamist regime. Now, let's get back to business. Restart Project Freedom.
When a gunman opened fire near the Washington Monument Monday, Mississippi National Guardsmen ran toward danger. They backed up law enforcement, helped secure the scene, and made sure an injured civilian was treated. Our nation is grateful for these heroes. These are Mississippi's finest, and they make our state proud. https://t.co/sEYPpIElAY
Gayle and I are thinking of everyone impacted by the storms. My staff has been in active engagement with @FEMA and @MSEMA. We are determined to see this through. We urge Mississippians to take full advantage of shelters, county emergency management officials, and other @MSEMA resources and guidance.
Grateful to see @SecWar prioritizing Gold Star families and moving forward with the Gold Star Advisory Council. These families have given everything for our nation, and they deserve the best support we can provide.
Mississippi storm victims: be aware of scammers who are trying to charge money to fill out disaster-related paperwork. This is a FREE service offered by the government. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact my office or MEMA directly.
Thrilled to see the Navy’s FF(X) frigate program starting fast. FF(X) is a highly producible design with little risk. We’ll be able to build them very quickly. Containerized weapons will allow us to bring new munitions and payloads to bear much faster. As long as we don’t let gold-plated requirements stay in, we will look back on this program as a huge success in five years.
Like the generations that came before us, we are now revitalizing manufacturing right here at home to rebuild the American arsenal. By reindustrializing and investing in new technology, we are creating jobs across our homeland. This is critical work that supports our military and civilian workforce.
