Northwest Iowa, please stay alert and be prepared for severe weather expected this week. I encourage everyone to monitor local forecasts, have a safety plan in place, and follow guidance from local officials.
RT @RepAshleyHinson: I’m excited to share that $38.5 million in funding for the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City was included in the…
I am honored to announce that FEMA has allocated more than $3.8 million in disaster relief funding for the City of Cherokee to assist with repairs to the Beach Street lift stations. This critical funding will help protect public health, ensure environmental safety, and maintain reliable wastewater service for Iowa families and businesses. I was proud to work directly with FEMA to help secure this funding, and I will continue working to ensure communities have the resources they need to rebuild and recover.
Today, we are following through on commitments made over twenty years ago. The House has now passed $38.5 million in funding for the 185th Air Refueling Wing, marking one of the largest military construction investments we have seen this year. Our work isn’t done. I’ll work closely with my Senate colleagues to get this across the finish line.
Today, I wrapped up my day with a great conversation with the Iowa National Guard Association. These brave men and women selflessly serve our country and defend our freedoms. I appreciated the opportunity to discuss how we can continue strengthening benefits and supporting their families while they are deployed. I remain committed to ensuring our men and women in uniform have a strong voice in Washington.
Today, I had a productive meeting with the American Association for Homecare (AAH). We had a great conversation about improving healthcare infrastructure, cracking down on Medicare fraud, and strengthening access to care for Iowans. I appreciate them taking the time to stop by, and I look forward to working on these issues.
Today, I had a great conversation with Fuel Iowa about the House passage of year-round, nationwide E-15 and the importance of lowering gas prices for working families. As a strong advocate for this critical legislation, I’m grateful for the partnership and leadership of groups like Fuel Iowa, whose strong support helped us pass this commonsense solution.
During World Trade Month, I’m highlighting the critical role Iowa’s 4th District plays in agricultural trade. As one of the nation’s leading agricultural districts, we export the commodities that help feed and fuel the world. That’s why I’m fighting to strengthen critical infrastructure through my FRIDGE Act and advance comprehensive trade agreements through my SAFE Act, included in the Farm Bill, to ensure our producers can continue to grow and thrive.
Today, during National Police Week, I had a great meeting with the Iowa State Police Association. We had a productive conversation about recruiting the next generation of law enforcement officers, expanding mental health resources, and strengthening benefits for the men and women in blue. I will always stand with our law enforcement officers, who work every day to keep Iowa communities safe.
Thank you, Secretary Rollins, for your continued leadership and commitment to getting this across the finish line. Iowa farmers are grateful for your support and for recognizing how important year-round E-15 is to our farming communities — lowering gas prices, expanding markets for our farmers, and supporting American energy independence.
