Had a great time celebrating the 21st Annual Graham Avenue Fiesta. Great music, great food, and the small businesses that make the Avenue of Puerto Rico one of Brooklyn's best stretches! https://t.co/kKRNXGGDCC
UPR is too important to Puerto Rico’s future to be dismantled by austerity. This week, alongside my colleagues, I urged the Fiscal Oversight Board to reject harmful cuts, protect pensions, cap tuition costs, and invest in public higher education. The UPR it is a pillar of research, healthcare, culture, and social mobility for Puerto Rico. We must protect it. https://t.co/kbvXWHL1sf
George Gresham was a good friend. For decades, he fought for healthcare workers, for immigrants, and for the dignity of working people. New York’s working families lost a giant. My thoughts are with his loved ones and the entire 1199 family.
Yesterday, I joined the students of P.S. 116 in Bushwick for a special podcast conversation. We talked about leadership, public service, and the importance of making your voice heard. So great to talk to the next generation of leaders! https://t.co/qOsp2ZnCfS
Today, I delivered $850,000 in federal funding to the Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center for an urgent bulkhead replacement project. This investment will help protect 70 industrial and artisan businesses, preserve 365 local jobs, and strengthen Brooklyn’s industrial waterfront for years to come.
I’m proud to have joined @RepJeffries today to deliver $1,850,000 for the reconstruction of Brooklyn’s Broadway Corridor. These funds will help to restore infrastructure and improve safety for our communities. https://t.co/6zWhrLArIk
Today, I’m proud to stand with @RepJeffries to deliver $1,850,000 for the reconstruction of Brooklyn’s Broadway Corridor. This critical investment will strengthen infrastructure, enhance safety, and ensure our communities have the reliable, well-maintained streets they deserve. https://t.co/LFHYpIv7xI
$1,200,000 is coming to NYCHA Bushwick Houses. These funds will help the replacement of deteriorating wood roof tanks to protect water quality. This investment means safer, cleaner water for residents and a stronger, more resilient community. Every family deserves reliable infrastructure.
Heartbroken by the tragic loss of a 9-year-old child struck by a school bus this morning in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. My prayers are with the child’s family and loved ones during this unimaginable time. We must do more to protect our children and ensure safe streets in every community.
Today's SCOTUS decision is a direct attack on our democracy. By undermining critical voting protections, this ruling opens the door to discrimination and silences voices, especially in communities of color. We should be strengthening the right to vote, not stripping it away.
