Happy Columbus Day! As a proud Italian American, I cherish a heritage rooted in faith, family, and tradition, and the generations who carried those values across the Atlantic to build a better life in America. Today, we honor the legacy of Christopher Columbus and celebrate the countless contributions Italian Americans have made to the country we are proud to call home. Our history deserves to be remembered, our heritage celebrated, and our traditions passed down to the next generation.🤌🇮🇹🇺🇸
As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’m proud to advance $65.6 million for CDC Lyme and tick-borne disease programs nationwide. These diseases pose a serious threat to Long Island families, and I’ll keep fighting to secure the resources our communities need to stay safe.
Voter ID is popular. Bipartisan. And supported across every demographic. https://t.co/IOTRaA83S1
New York collects more in state and local taxes per person than any other state. That's why I fought to quadruple the SALT deduction and deliver tax relief on tips and overtime, plus an additional deduction for seniors. Now it’s Albany’s turn to lower taxes for hardworking New Yorkers.
America should never trade the freedom that built this country for the failed promises of socialism. https://t.co/Jbpj8HPnYB
The federal dollars we’ve secured for Suffolk County are a result of my team’s legislative prowess: more than $41 million since 2023. Our $27.1 million in FY26 alone ranked third among New York’s 26 congressional districts. And we’re just getting warmed up! https://t.co/YvXY4yoSaV
Three years ago, Hamas terrorists murdered 1,200 people and took hundreds hostage. They raped, burned, and slaughtered innocent people. Children and grandparents. Women and men. Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Israelis, Americans, and people from around the world. Innocence offered no protection. For Long Island, this is personal. We remember Omer Neutra, the 21-year-old American-Israeli from Plainview killed defending others, and every family forever changed. Hamas’s hatred does not stop at Israel’s borders. Hamas murdered Americans and took Americans hostage. Standing with Israel is vital to America’s security because those who want to “wipe Israel off of the map” also want to bring “Death to America.” We will never forget October 7. We will never excuse terrorism or tolerate antisemitism. We stand with our Jewish neighbors, with Israel, and against those who threaten our freedom and way of life. 🇺🇸🇮🇱💪
I’m proud to have supported the Kay Hagan Tick Reauthorization Act in the House, now signed into law. It reauthorizes up to $150 million over five years for Lyme and tick-borne disease research, prevention, and public health response. This matters on Long Island, where Suffolk County reported more than 3,100 cases of Lyme disease in 2024 alone. Tick-borne illnesses are a serious local public health challenge that affects our families, kids, pets, and anyone who enjoys our parks, trails, and beaches. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’ll fight to fully fund these efforts and make sure Suffolk County gets its fair share for better research, prevention, detection, and treatment.
Seeing more dolphins make themselves at home off Long Island is an encouraging sign of the progress we’re making toward cleaner, healthier waters. I’m proud to have helped secure more than $120 million for the Long Island Sound since taking office and I’ll keep fighting to protect this treasured part of our environment and way of life.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we honor survivors, remember the loved ones we’ve lost, and recognize how deeply a diagnosis changes a family’s life. In Congress, I’ve supported $130 million for the Breast Cancer Research Program to advance breakthrough research, clinical trials, prevention, detection, and better treatments. To those fighting breast cancer and the loved ones beside them, we stand with you.
