As chairman of the Congressional Special Events Task Force, I had the pleasure of meeting with @WHTaskForceFIFA executive director @AndrewHGiuliani today in my office. Our respective task forces have worked together for months to help ensure the World Cup is safe and fun for all. We look forward to a great summer of events that showcase American excellence!
This week, we recognize the brave men and women who protect and serve our communities. Law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to keep us safe. I'm proud to stand with @HouseGOP in honoring their courage and sacrifice. https://t.co/0JRs11lahO
From foreign adversaries to cartels, bad actors are increasingly using drones to target infrastructure & innocent civilians. As the U.S. prepares to host millions of visitors for the FIFA World Cup & America250 celebrations, we must be prepared to neutralize this evolving threat.
Texas is home to more than 3.5 million small businesses, which serve as the backbone of our local economy. The best thing the federal government can do for them is get out of their way — and reduce oppressive taxes that stifle their impact. That's why I was proud to vote for the Working Families Tax Cuts, which made permanent the 20% small businesses deduction. @HouseGOP will always fight for our nation's small businesses!
Congratulations to @TAMU's new president, Susan Ballabina! I'm confident she will lead the College Station campus with excellence as Texas A&M continues to reach new heights. https://t.co/Ilbd1bhMa5
As the son of a WWII bombardier, I know the sacrifices that our service members and their families make to defend our great nation. During Military Appreciation Month, please join me in thanking the men and women who risk everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸
I strongly applaud the passage of today’s DHS funding bill, which is critical for closing security gaps ahead of our upcoming FIFA World Cup games. Despite Democrats' attempts to play political games with ICE and CBP, I am also glad this bill funded CBP's National Targeting Center, which works to identify and stop travelers and cargo that pose a threat to our nation. With only 42 days left until kickoff, DHS must be operating at peak capacity.
After sitting back-to-back with @SandraSmithFox at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, I joined her on @AmericaRpts to discuss the aftermath of the shooting and my thoughts on the venue's security. https://t.co/hMjgYTLPEz
With only 44 days until the first @FIFAWorldCup game, we must do everything in our power to secure the airspace over our 11 host cities. While the Safer Skies Act was a vital step forward, the tournament’s scale requires us to build upon that foundation immediately. https://t.co/9GUMNiZxZU
Tune in now 🚨 I’m joining @AmericaRpts live on Fox News to discuss the harrowing shooting at the White House Correspondents’ dinner and what lessons can be learned about security at major events. https://t.co/g6nEdlcTuP
