Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! ❤️ Today and every day we celebrate the leadership, resilience, history, cultures, languages, and accomplishments of Tribal communities here in New Mexico and all across the country. Every day we are honored to work alongside Tribal and Pueblo leaders to keep doing the work—whether that’s fighting to protect sacred lands and waters, investing in housing, schools, clinics, and economic opportunities, honoring our veterans, and celebrating the people in our communities. These are just a few of our heroes here at home and across the country!
We are building New Mexico and our economy! We know New Mexicans are strong and resilient, but struggling to get by—and that is why EVERY DAY we’re fighting to address the costs of housing, food, other essentials and to rebuild our economy—because every New Mexican should be able to put food on the table, a roof over their head, and live with dignity and purpose! Over the last 5 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to bring home millions for economic development, infrastructure, and good union jobs. I’ve secured millions to rebuild our cities and towns and invest in local businesses and entrepreneurs. I’ve helped support schools, clinics, and trades programs and secured millions for housing, food assistance, and other programs that help New Mexico families thrive—while fighting to build jobs, protect Social Security, expand healthcare, and build a brighter future for our state. Because—this is the work we love to do and as New Mexicans, we take care of each other!
This Administration is full of grifters, corruption, and pay-to-play schemes—with little regard for the public trust. If we want to see: Accountability Officials held accountable Our democracy function the way it’s supposed to— Everyone needs to GET OUT AND VOTE! https://t.co/8YsCSi1kDf
Every day, our firefighters and first responders put everything on the line to keep our communities safe. In many of our communities, our firefighters are the first on the scene when someone needs help. They battle wildfires, save lives during floods, and provide life-saving care. That’s why I’ve invested millions in fire and emergency services across our state, including in Albuquerque, Moriarty and the East Mountains, Fort Sumner, Sandia, and Peralta. We have new proposals for emergency centers in Lincoln and Valencia counties. I secured millions with Albuquerque legislators for new fire engines and equipment, and helped pass the state law to ensure our firefighters and first responders can get care for PTSD. (It was, in fact, my first bill signed into law with Rep. Armstrong.) Since day one, the safety of our communities has been at the forefront of our work, and I am so humbled and grateful to stand with our firefighters every day as they are on the front lines keeping us safe!
We want to welcome all of the Sailors and Marines home from the USS Abraham Lincoln. We know that Thank You is not enough for the service and sacrifices you’ve made—including those no Service Member should ever have to endure. It must never happen again. We are grateful to you, your families and all who serve. It’s time to end this war now.
This Administration is robbing our country of its dignity. https://t.co/d7hMFhl5Xa
Ok, “Unites” States. 🙄
In New Mexico, service is a way of life. Every day we are deeply grateful for our Service Members, their families, and all of our veterans across the state. From Kirtland Air Force Base, to our National Guard, to every veteran in every community across New Mexico—we are working every day to support those who have worn the uniform and to invest in critical infrastructure, benefits, and care. I am proud to co-sponsor the Major Richard Star Act for combat veterans, to have helped pass the PACT Act, secured vital funding to build ABQ’s first Veterans Integration Center for homeless vets, and to be fighting to protect and expand access to care and benefits every day! Thank you to all who serve. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
-U.S. Service Members killed. -Hundreds wounded. -Thousands of civilians dead. -Millions of Americans suffering from the cost of food, gas and inflation from this illegal war in Iran. And, now he’s making flip comments about them taking out two American cities. What is wrong with this man? Absolutely disgusting and abhorrent. It’s past time to invoke the 25th Amendment. The question is will our Republican colleagues find the courage to do so?
We’re here with New Mexico’s Teacher of the Year—the incredible Nancy Orta! NM is leading the way as the first in the nation to pass universal childcare, early education, and higher education! We love our teachers who are working every day to ensure every child and student has the opportunity to thrive!! 📚🍎
