Choosing a life of service takes something special. 🇺🇸 Last night, students and families from across our community took an important step toward our nation’s U.S. Service Academies and learned more about the congressional nomination process through my office. It is one of the great privileges of serving in Congress to help open that door for young people willing to lead, sacrifice, and serve our country. Miami should be proud of them. Thank you to American Legion Post 98 for hosting us and supporting the next generation of American leaders.
Three years ago today, the Jewish people suffered their deadliest day since the Holocaust. We remember the innocent lives taken on October 7. We mourn with their families and honor the memory of every victim. Three years later, we have not forgotten. We will not forget. America stands with the Jewish people, with Israel, and against the evil of terrorism and antisemitism. 🇺🇸🇮🇱
Tomorrow, the path to service begins in Coral Gables. 🇺🇸 I’m inviting South Florida’s next generation of leaders to join us for Service Academy Day and explore what it takes to earn a place at one of our nation’s U.S. Service Academies. Meet Academy representatives, learn about the admissions process, and understand how to earn a congressional nomination. 📅 Tomorrow, October 7 ⏰ 5:30–7:30 PM 📍 American Legion Post 98 | Coral Gables For those ready to lead, serve, and represent our country, this could be the first step toward an extraordinary future. 🇺🇸
Miami is built by people who turn ideas into opportunity. Last night, I joined the U.S. Hispanic Women’s Chamber of Commerce to celebrate entrepreneurs who are building businesses, creating jobs, and strengthening our economy. I was also proud to present the Chamber with a Congressional recognition honoring its work in our community. That is the American Dream in action: work hard, build something of your own, and create opportunities for others. Congratulations to all the women we celebrated last night! 🇺🇸
Today, 21-year-old Anna Bensi and her mother, Caridad, are facing trial in Havana, while State Security surrounds the homes of journalists and activists trying to attend. As the Cuban dictatorship collapses under the weight of its own failures, repression is all it has left. But voices like Anna’s are only getting stronger. At just 21, she represents the courage of Cubans who refuse to be intimidated into silence. Anna and Caridad, today we stand with you. 🇨🇺
