Heartbroken to hear of the tragic passing of my friends Shelly and Ken Scott. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength, comfort, and healing to their family and everyone grieving this unimaginable loss.
On a daily basis, PTSD drives 20 to 40 veterans to take their own lives. Psychedelic therapies have shown tremendous success in helping veterans recover from PTSD and other mental health struggles, essentially curing them. That's why its critical that we restore funding for VA medical research that supports the treatment of veterans’ battleground wounds.
RT @HouseDailyPress: The House adopted the @RepLouCorrea Amd't No. 10 by voice vote.
The Trump Administration has already taken healthcare away from millions of Americans, and now they want to put even more livelihoods at risk based on partisan accusations of fraud rather than conducting a fair investigation. The Administration should be focused on making life more affordable for hardworking Americans — not continuing this vendetta against California. https://t.co/byPL8b1k2L
The “thin blue line” stands between our families and harm. I have always supported law enforcement officers and their families, and they have worked every day to keep our communities safe. Despite the risks, long hours, and constant stress, hundreds of thousands of officers wake up each morning, put on the badge, and answer the call to serve and protect our communities. This National Police Week, we honor our women and men in blue. It is sad to see my Republican colleagues choose to politicize this occasion by attaching poison pills to a resolution meant to recognize our officers. Democrats and Republicans should come together to honor public safety professionals, not use this moment for political cheap shots. This should never be about political parties — it should be about honoring our heroes.
Our veterans put their lives on the line to defend our country, and far too many come home carrying invisible wounds. They deserve access to every effective resource available to help treat PTSD and support their recovery. The science shows that psychedelics are delivering game-changing results. I urge my colleagues to join me in urging the FDA to review this innovative, evidence-based care for those who served our nation. https://t.co/QbbL2PYfYN
The bipartisan PATH Caucus is focused on finding the safest and most effective ways to utilize psychedelics to help our veterans and anyone struggling with PTSD. https://t.co/yTlx4OosXK
I stood with my colleagues to show the FCC that free speech will not be silenced by this administration. California’s entertainment industry will not be censored, and I will do everything I can to fight for them.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich cultures and many contributions of AAPI communities across Orange County. They are our teachers, first responders, small business owners, and community leaders helping shape and strengthen the place we call home.
I again voted NO on FISA. I do not trust this Administration, as they have ordered federal agencies to share information in order to surveil and target U.S. citizens for political purposes. There are still no guardrails on this bill to protect Americans.
