13 million Americans are not “a small price to pay” – it’s absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for President Trump to even joke about such a thing as he continues his reckless war. Trump encouraging Iran to “take out” San Diego and Los Angeles is completely unhinged. This is a disgusting insult to the nation’s highest office, and Republicans and Democrats alike should condemn such callous comments.

FINALLY. Ho Yin Mo is a public servant and constituent who should never have been detained, and I’m relieved he’s been released so he can return to helping our Bay Area community. It was an honor to join the UC Berkeley Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno to commemorate 100 years of NROTC. When I visited, I was shocked to learn green card holders and others who are here legally have been kept in a windowless room for up to a week, without access to legal counsel or the ability to make a phone call to family. These conditions are causing unnecessary trauma to people who would have, in the past, been quickly paroled. Trump’s campaign ads are now being paid for by your tax dollars. Not only is this blatantly against the law but it’s an egregious waste of public money that should be going toward serving the people.
