Today, we commemorate Christopher Columbus’s arrival to the Americas in 1492. An event that marked a turning point in world history and helped aide a new era of exploration, exchange, and settlement. His voyage forever changed the course of the Americas and helped shape the history of the nation and the world that we know today.
In observance of Columbus Day, my offices will be closed, Monday, October 12th.
Together, House Republicans delivered 100% expensing for new domestic factories. This creates new opportunities and encourages companies to stay in the country. American made, all day, every day. https://t.co/CCvpZxafPA
I was honored to attend the Lynchburg Fire Department’s Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. This is an opportunity to remember the local first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our communities. Since the department’s founding in 1883, these brave men and women have sacrificed time with families, and put their lives on the line to protect people in need. To the families and friends of the heroes who gave their lives, we thank you and stand with you.
Students should be free to attend the school that’s the best fit for their educational journey. House Republicans are unlocking new options and financial help that supports parental decisions, helping students learn and grow in environments that work best for them. https://t.co/1DXyNApPW8
1 in 8 people live with a mental health condition and often face inadequate treatment. On World Mental Health Day we recognize the importance of prioritizing mental health care and raising continued awareness for further resources and support. https://t.co/bf4EIt7ghI

My @HouseGOP colleagues and I are committed to protecting the environment and your wallet. By ending the Natural Gas Tax, we removed a harmful EPA rule that put an unnecessary charge on methane emissions from some oil and natural gas facilities. https://t.co/iY34Wiq1jp
Repaying federal student loans is known for being a stressful and confusing process for many Americans. That’s why House Republicans and I passed the Working Families Tax Cuts Act to reform the federal student loans program to make the platform simpler and easier to use. You work hard for your education, paying for it shouldn’t be a burden.
Recently, I was able to tour Crewe Tractor and Finance Co. in Crewe, Virginia. Since 1952, this family business has grown through three generations of the Taylor family. They provide farmers and families across Southside Virginia with tractors, farm and hay equipment, mowers, ATVs, and other outdoor power equipment. They also offer parts, repairs, on-site service, and financing to help customers keep their operations running. Thank you to the Crewe Tractor team for taking the time to meet with me!
