Congratulations to Ted Balestreri on his honorary doctorate from CSUMB. Ted is a pillar of the CSUMB and CA-19 community. Congrats, again, Ted, on this well-deserved honor. https://t.co/W4esWsQhCS
When your hard-earned money is tied up in bureaucracy, it’s easy to feel helpless. That’s the situation a constituent faced when the IRS was withholding her 2024 IRS tax refund due to suspected fraud. I stepped in and after months of working with her and fighting the IRS to get them to verify her identity, she finally received her refund check for $4,700 in the mail. This is my job to make the federal government work for you.
Vulnerable seniors too often face unnecessary barriers to coverage when trying to use their Medicare Advantage plans to access essential care. That’s why I introduced bipartisan legislation to reduce administrative burdens and streamline the prior authorization processes to cut down on delays in care. I will continue to work across the aisle to help seniors in CA-19 and across the country receive timely and lifesaving care. https://t.co/753IZxEj9b
This Administration needs to stop playing politics with people’s health and lives. With more than 120,000 people in California’s 19th Congressional District who depend on these Medicaid payments, I will continue to fight in Congress to protect their health and safety. https://t.co/oxi6HFsdL5
Productive meeting with local city government officials to discuss how the federal government can support critical infrastructure in CA-19. https://t.co/gLGEcyNXCi
The Lower Presidio Historic Park holds over 12,000 years of history, yet has never received the national recognition that it deserves. That’s why I authored and introduced legislation to help designate this Monterey institution as a National Historic Park and ensure the proper federal support to preserve the Lower Presidio Historic Park for future generations. https://t.co/07WLvQxttP
Great to speak with the Western Growers Association and commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the organization. Proud to partner with our growers to protect the future of American agriculture and support our economy. https://t.co/SVVMhm0kLJ
Great to see Templeton Feed and Grain getting back on its feet after the devastating fire. After I saw the damage firsthand last year, Templeton has continued to remind us of the resilience of California’s 19th Congressional District. I look forward to the reopening of this pillar of our community. https://t.co/3w1yCXda7D
Affordable housing is one of the biggest issues facing California’s 19th Congressional District. That’s why I introduced my Workforce Housing Tax Credit Act to ensure that people across the country can afford to live and work in their communities. https://t.co/CFf2QV0tnd
This National Police Week and every week, I commend and thank our local law enforcement in CA-19 for their service and safety of our communities. In that spirit, I was proud to secure $850,000 from the federal government for the Atascadero Police Department to make critical improvements to its police station as they continue to protect and serve.
