This week, our nation observes National Police Week, a time to honor the dedication and sacrifices of the law enforcement officers who protect our communities in Kansas and across the country. We also remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Because of their sacrifices, our communities and state are safer. May God bless our law enforcement officers and keep them safe as they faithfully serve and protect us.

It was great to meet Chad & Beth Allan from Wichita yesterday. Chad is the Police Chief at the @RobertJDoleVAMC & testified before @SVACGOP about his team’s efforts to keep veterans, staff & visitors safe. I am grateful for his commitment to protecting Kansans & to all VA police officers for their service to our nation’s veterans.

GOOD NEWS: @SenJudiciaryGOP has advanced the nominations of Kansans Jeffrey Kuhlman, Anthony Powell & Tony Mattivi to be federal judges for KS. Their expertise, commitment to serving Kansans & our country & upholding the rule of law make these nominees highly qualified to serve as federal judges. I look forward to supporting their confirmations by the full Senate & urge my colleagues to vote in favor of their nominations.

The Senate voted 89-10 to pass the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, a package that includes three of my bills to help expand access to affordable housing in rural KS communities. I appreciate the President’s support for this important legislation & his call for its passage in the House.
