My team was able to join the NAACP’s Harlem Renaissance Gala, celebrating the fifth anniversary of the SCV branch and the work they’ve done to make a difference. President Trump’s comments about Los Angeles and San Diego are deeply concerning. I joined my colleagues from across California to condemn his remarks. Los Angeles and San Diego are home to more than 16 million Americans, including millions of Californians who deserve a President who protects them, not one who threatens their communities. This dangerous rhetoric should not be taken lightly.

I’m proud to cosponsor bipartisan, bicameral legislation to create a national tax credit for film and TV production to help level the playing field with aggressive foreign competitors. We need to keep productions, jobs, and opportunity in California, especially here in Northern Los Angeles County. Our region has long been a leader in film and television production, but competition from other countries and states has made it harder to keep productions here. This bill, combined with new state incentives, will enable more shows and movies to stay in LA County and shoot locally.

Last week, @RepRaskin and I called for an investigation into Trump using your tax dollars to run political ads. Now, he’s retreating and making his super PAC pay for them instead. That’s what happens when you stand up and fight.

Kids are getting more and more hooked on chatbots – that’s why I introduced a bill to protect them.
