Today marks the anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, a landmark decision affirming that every child deserves equal access to education. We must continue the fight for equity, inclusion, and quality education for every child, regardless of race or zip code. https://t.co/duMjCZ6I65
Seeing the Chibok girls graduate from the American University of Nigeria is a powerful reminder of survivor strength. It takes me back to the kidnapping of 264 girls years ago and efforts to bring them home and strengthen protections. For years, we supported survivors with rescue, trauma care, and education as they rebuilt their lives. Today, they are reclaiming their voices and stepping into their futures.
Whether in Washington or in the district, the work never stops for me. Serving the people of Florida’s 24th Congressional District has been the work of my entire adult life. This is my footprint, and this is what I do, and my constituents know my commitment to them is unwavering.
During National Police Week, we recognize the leadership and service of Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Sheriff of Miami-Dade County. A $1 billion ballroom is not what working families are asking for. At a time when people are struggling with the cost of groceries, housing, and everyday essentials, every taxpayer dollar must be treated with care and common sense. We need priorities that reflect the needs of the people, not extravagance at their expense.
As we observe National Police Week, we proudly recognize Delma K. Noel-Pratt, Chief of Police for the City of Miami Gardens Police Department. Chief Noel-Pratt’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to protecting the community continue to make a meaningful impact throughout Miami Gardens. We thank her for her service and unwavering dedication to public safety.
This isn’t just about high gas prices. South Florida families are being squeezed by rising costs for groceries, housing, and everyday essentials. Working people are doing everything right, yet the cost of living keeps climbing. That is unacceptable. We will not accept this as the new normal. Families deserve relief, accountability, and stability they can count on.
In recognition of National Police Week, we honor the dedicated leaders who serve and protect our communities with distinction. Dr. Robin R. Starks, Chief of Police for the City of Opa-locka, exemplifies excellence, integrity, and steadfast commitment to public safety. We extend our sincere appreciation for her leadership and service.
