Congratulations to Kevin Warsh on his confirmation as Chairman of the Federal Reserve. In this critical economic time, I have full faith in his leadership as Fed Chair with his extensive background and expertise. As Chairman of the House Financial Services Task Force on Monetary Policy, Treasury Market Resilience, and Economic Prosperity, I look forward to working closely with Chairman Warsh as he leads the central bank.
As National Police Week begins, we honor the brave men and women that courageously serve our local communities. We are grateful for all that you do to keep us safe. https://t.co/fH3p9lVA1A
The Treasury market is the bedrock of our global financial system. With our nation’s debt continuing to grow, it’s critical that Congress, @SECGov, and @CFTC allow market participants to mitigate risk and drive demand for these instruments. https://t.co/ClWKz5eUWj
I’m pleased to see, after years of hard work, the 2026 Farm Bill pass the U.S. House of Representatives. This bill reauthorizes a suite of critical research, rural development, and credit programs that will invest into our communities and create rural resiliency for decades to come. It also focuses on expanding and investing into market access programs abroad, and it ensures that voluntary conservation programs continue to reflect the needs of producers. As former Chairman of the House Ag Committee, I have experienced firsthand what it takes to pass a comprehensive farm bill, and I commend everyone that worked so hard to get this over the finish line. I look forward to building on this success to help create a final product for President Trump to sign into law.
I am saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Carl Renfro. From the first time I met Carl, not only was it obvious he was an outstanding member of Ponca City and a highly qualified banker, but his community spirit and focus on the future of the city was quite extraordinary. I consider the times I worked with Carl on important community projects as some of my most rewarding experiences as a public servant. Even after he retired from his business life, every discussion I had with him was about what we could do for Ponca City. His legacy will be remembered in Ponca City and all of Oklahoma forever, and he will be greatly missed. I am praying for his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
I went to Vance Air Force Base in Enid to see the devastating tornado damage firsthand. I thank our brave first responders, medical professionals, Mayor Mason, and members of the Enid community that have come together to help Oklahomans in their biggest time of need. It’s critical that Enid has every resource at our disposal to help the recovery efforts in the coming weeks.
The American Red Cross shelter remains open at 111 W. Purdue Ave, Enid, OK 73701 for those that are in need of care. If your home or business was impacted from the tornado damage, please report the damages to https://t.co/R0MNfJ68m7.
I am heartbroken to see the devastating tornado damage around Vance Air Force Base in Enid. I am grateful that there have been no fatalities, and I have been in touch with Mayor David Mason for the last several hours. My office is available to support those hurting from the damage in any way that we can.
