My bill, the Criminal History Access Act, passed the Senate! The bill will strengthen background checks for law enforcement officers by ensuring the people who certify officers have access to the criminal history information they need. Our bipartisan bill, which I introduced with @RepDeborahRoss of North Carolina, closes a loophole and will help make sure people with disqualifying criminal histories don’t slip through the cracks. I’m proud we got this commonsense bill across the finish line in Congress. Now it’s headed to President Trump’s desk.
