I stand in solidarity with NC's Iranian American community, many of whom are in D.C. today rallying for peace & democracy for the people of Iran. Thank you for speaking out against injustice for those who cannot safely speak for themselves. I will keep fighting for a free Iran.
ICE has taken up a tactic of detaining immigrants who report crimes. It's causing violent criminals to go free and victims are scared to report crimes. ICE's inhumane tactics are making our country less safe. https://t.co/vIKh5jJ5j8

RT @HouseJudiciary: Immigrants who are victims of crime are less likely to report it or testify out of fear of being detained. @RepDeborah…
If Republicans were serious about honoring law enforcement during National Police Week, they wouldn't let Trump pay off the people who beat up law enforcement on January 6th. Trump calls these convicted criminals ‘patriots’ and gave them a blanket pardon. Now, he wants to give them taxpayer dollars.
To kick off Police Week, I was proud to announce over $2 million in funds for community projects focused on public safety. This week, we show our appreciation for the law enforcement officers and community leaders who put their lives on the line for the people of Wake County. https://t.co/qh8MXxIPaC
Over 50K people apply for law enforcement jobs a year, which includes a background check. Yet officers can get hired who shouldn't be: current law blocks key hiring agencies from accessing federal criminal history. The solution is simple: Give the agencies access to this info. https://t.co/vmEfg1ZhMJ
RT @RepDerekSchmidt: Today, the House passed my bipartisan Criminal History Access Act to strengthen background checks for law enforcement…
My bipartisan bill w/ @RepDerekSchmidt just passed in the House unanimously. The bill grants access to federal criminal records to agencies training + hiring new law enforcement officers. It's a commonsense solution that will strengthen public safety. A reminder that Congress can work together + get things done.
Families + businesses are hurting from rising gas prices. Trump's attitude? “If they rise, they rise.” That’s unacceptable. I met with local business and nonprofit leaders to hear how these costs are hurting them and their employees. Washington must end this war + lower prices.
