For years, I’ve called on Congress to return to regular order by advancing individual appropriations bills. Today, I voted to fulfill this responsibility by passing the FY2027 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act to strengthen military readiness, support our service members and military families, and ensure veterans receive the care and benefits they earned.

Sandy and I are heartbroken by the loss of Spc. Mariyah Collington and 1st Lt. Kendrick Key Jr., two American heroes who tragically lost their lives during a training mission in Morocco. Spc. Collington, a young soldier from Tavares, answered the call to serve our nation with courage, patriotism, and selfless commitment to something greater than herself. At just 19 years old, she represented the very best of our country. I am praying for their families, friends, and fellow soldiers during this incredibly difficult time. May God comfort all those mourning this tragic loss, and may we always honor the sacrifice of those who wear our nation’s uniform.

During National Police Week, we honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who put on the badge every day to keep our communities safe. These officers courageously answer the call to serve – often at great personal sacrifice – to protect our families, defend our neighborhoods, and uphold law and order. Today and every day, we thank our law enforcement officers and remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty. I will always stand with our police and remain committed to ensuring they have the training, tools, and resources they need to keep our communities safe.

I am heartbroken by this news. I love Bill Posey, he was a fierce, trustworthy friend and colleague. I will miss my friend.

It was great to join the Kiwanis Club of Clermont this morning to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. In times of challenge and blessing, American’s have turned to pray for Gods wisdom, strength, and hope. Today, and every day, let us pray for our country, for our brave armed forces, first responders, for our communities, and for the next generation of Americans. America’s seniors have paid into Social Security with their tax dollars. With the Working Families Tax Cuts, @Potus and I delivered on one of my top priorities by providing seniors with a historic additional $6,000 tax deduction.
