Hurricane Isaias has strengthened to a major hurricane, and several counties in southeast Mississippi are under warnings. Please stay weather-aware, follow guidance from @MSEMA and @fema, and check on your neighbors. If you need help, my office is here for you.

It was an honor to join the Northeast Mississippi Veterans’ Forum in Tupelo, hosted by the Lee County Veterans Service Office. Mississippi’s veterans and their families have sacrificed so much to our nation, and I am proud to support legislation like the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act, which includes the Major Richard Star Act and the Love Lives On Act, to ensure servicemembers and their families receive the benefits they have earned. I will continue fighting in Washington for the care and support our veterans deserve, and my office stands ready to help any veteran in need.

Mississippi’s foster care and adoption advocates change children’s lives every day, and this year’s Angels in Adoption honorees show what that service looks like. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time for all of us to honor breast cancer survivors, stand with those who are still fighting, and honor the memory of all who have been affected by this disease. Regular mammograms and screenings can catch breast cancer early and save lives. It’s so important for women across Mississippi and our nation to schedule their mammograms and to remind our friends and family to do the same. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Pleasure meeting with Mayor Roslynn Clark and city officials in Baldwyn yesterday. I appreciate their time and the updates on the progress being made in the community, as well as what they need from Washington to continue moving forward. Meeting with our local leaders where they live and work helps us better serve the families and businesses of Lee and Prentiss counties, and I look forward to our continued partnership!
