President Trump’s new executive actions take steps toward each of those goals by strengthening Packers and Stockyards enforcement, expanding interstate sales of inspected meat, supporting small and very small processors, and cutting unnecessary regulatory burdens. Following the severe windstorm that caused significant damage in Lynndyl, community members are gathering today at 1:00 PM at Lynndyl City Park (50 E Center) to help with cleanup efforts and come together in support of our neighbors. Sharing this so our neighbors in Millard County are aware of today’s community cleanup effort.

My phone keeps ringing because ranchers who are unhappy about increased imports of foreign beef are calling for help. I hear you. President Trump is focused on keeping beef affordable for American families. Utah ranchers are ready to be part of the solution. Heartbreaking news from the Widemouth 2 Fire. We owe an enormous debt to the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to keep others safe. My prayers are with the families, loved ones, and fellow firefighters of the two crew members we lost.

The State of Utah and the U.S. Forest Service are teaming up to provide $18 million to support Beaver County’s recovery.

Yesterday, I brought a group to Beaver that doesn't often travel together: members of Congress, state legislators, and Forest Service officials. We walked through neighborhoods destroyed by floods and surveyed the destruction left by the Cottonwood Fire. The damage is widespread and severe, and recovery is going to take time. The people of Beaver are resilient, but resilience shouldn't have to be the plan. Better forest management reduces this kind of risk, and for too long the federal government hasn't listened to the Utahns who know these lands best. That's starting to change, and visits like this one are part of making sure that continues.
