Since 2016, restrictive Medicare policies have significantly limited patients’ ability to choose their own wheelchairs. Last year, I introduced H.R. 1703, the Choices for Increased Mobility Act, to expand patient choice and improve access to lightweight mobility equipment for Medicare beneficiaries. Following a @HouseCommerce Subcommittee on Health markup, I’m proud to share that H.R. 1703 has successfully passed out of committee with bipartisan support.
Happy Nurses Week! This week, we celebrate the heart, strength, and compassion that nurses bring to the world every single day. Nurses are advocates, healers, problem-solvers, and heroes—often all at once. Thank you to all the nurses across PA-13. Your impact goes beyond measure.
This week, we pause as a nation to honor National Police Week. Every day, officers across America answer the call to serve—running toward danger without hesitation so others can live in safety. Their courage, dedication, and commitment to our communities exceed even the highest expectations of public service. To the officers serving today, and to those we have lost: thank you. As a Member of Congress, supporting those who protect our communities is not just a priority—it is a responsibility.

Today, on National Day of Prayer, we are given the opportunity to come together—across communities and beliefs—to pray for our families, our communities, and the future of our great nation. Just yesterday, I was honored to pray with Pastor Dave Street and members of the West Hills Community Church in Johnstown. May God continue to bless Pennsylvania’s beautiful 13th District and the United States of America.
Congratulations to Jeremy Hajzus on his appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy! A student at Central Cambria High School, Jeremy has shown outstanding dedication to academics and service—earning this distinguished nomination. Please join me in congratulating his parents, Michael and Leary Hajzus, along with Superintendent Dr. Jason Moore and Principal Lisa Asashon for their support. Undoubtedly, Jeremy will represent our community with honor as he serves this great nation.
During Small Business Week, we recognize the small businesses that are the backbone of our communities. Thank you for all you do—and don’t forget to shop small and support local! https://t.co/5S8qHHggQA
Thrilled to have the support of the AAFP and the family doctors that they represent on our efforts to improve patient care and expand access in Medicare Advantage.

Prayers are with President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump this evening. We are deeply grateful for the Secret Service for acting swiftly to keep everyone safe during this attempted act of violence.
