Today marks International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, a time to recommit to the rights and dignity of all LGBTQ+ individuals across the globe. No hate should be tolerated, and every person should be able to be who they truly are at their core. I will continue to advocate for equal protections for members of the LGBTQ+ community and hope you join me in celebrating their identities today.
There is an unprecedented level of corruption in the Trump administration. https://t.co/aSGQtJ8MCc
I introduced the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act alongside @RepJayapal for this exact reason – to end inhumane conditions within detention centers and to uphold to civil rights of immigrants. No human being, regardless of legal status, should have their health and wellbeing put at risk while in a processing facility. We need more inspections and more transparency to rebuild our broken immigration system. https://t.co/MRqh8nRtcy
Happy Armed Forces Day to everyone in Washington’s Ninth District. I’m incredibly grateful for the selfless dedication that our men and women in the military give to our country, and thank them for their service and duty.
King County’s housing market has been hit hard by the war with Iran, as many buyers and sellers are struggling with increased construction prices, costs at the pump, and potential tech industry layoffs. With the average single-family home in King County selling for $960,000, we should be doing more to bring down housing costs. I’ve introduced legislation to streamline construction with cheaper, prefabricated materials to bring more homes to our community in less time and for less money. This is what the people in Washington need. https://t.co/C3bz1FGRFP
The cost of Donald Trump’s policies continue to impact the American people. https://t.co/HzgVT32ERL
We need to work diplomatically with other countries to end the war with Iran. https://t.co/jHFoEagnhU

Two years ago, my legislation providing important provisions for aviation-impacted communities passed the House of Representatives and was sent to President Biden’s desk where it became law. Having grown up in SeaTac, I know how important the airport is to our community, but also how it can influence those living there. This bill makes the Ninth District and our country safer by addressing environmental and physical consequences from airplane fuel and emissions. I’m glad to see the federal government take a step towards improving the quality of life for those living near airports, and will continue to work to advance these changes.
